Wingfoil · Damien LeRoy
Sheeting the wing in and out is your throttle. Sheet in (pull the back hand toward you) to power up; sheet out (extend the back arm) to depower. This sounds simple but needs to become automatic — every manoeuvre depends on smooth power management. Damien's Master Class covers the exact beach drills you need before hitting the water.
Front arm stays relatively straight and provides direction; back arm does the sheeting (power control)
Depower by extending the back arm — the wing immediately loses pull and you slow down
Never sheet in and pull the wing downward — keep the leading edge angled slightly into the wind
Practice on the beach: walk into the wind, sheet in to feel the pull, sheet out to stop — repeat until it's automatic
