Wingfoil · Damien LeRoy
Knee taxi is riding the board on your knees with the foil acting as a passive fin, not generating lift. The goal is to get comfortable moving in both directions, controlling your speed, and recovering from crashes — all before adding the complexity of standing up. Many beginners rush past this stage and pay for it later.
Keep your knees about shoulder-width apart for stability
Sheet in to accelerate, sheet out to slow — practice this until it feels effortless
Look where you want to go — your body naturally follows your gaze
If the wing catches water and flips, don't fight it; let go with the back hand and flip it cleanly
