Wingfoil · Damien LeRoy
Catching a wing tip and having to flip it back is one of the most common early frustrations. The wing goes down, fills with water, and suddenly feels like a sandbag. Damien shows the technique to flip it cleanly in a few seconds — depowering first, then using the trailing edge to flick it back up — so you can get straight back to riding.
Depower completely first — sheet out the back hand or drop it entirely so you're not fighting a powered wing
Grab the trailing edge (back of the wing) and use a flicking motion to roll it up and over
Keep the board moving with a paddle stroke or body position — momentum makes the flip easier
Practice this on land in moderate wind until the motion is completely automatic
