The sitting jibe is a style trick where you sit down on the board during the jibe arc, then stand back up on the other tack. It's not just about sitting — the lowering of your center of gravity creates a very smooth, controlled arc that also looks effortless. It's popular in light wind when you're near the foil stall speed.
Lower yourself slowly during the arc — don't drop suddenly or the foil reacts to the weight change
Keep the wing powered throughout — the sitting position naturally wants to depower the wing, so compensate
Stand back up early (before the exit) so you have full balance for the foot switch
Practice in flat water and light conditions first — the manoeuvre needs slow, deliberate movement
