Wingfoil · Damien LeRoy
Jibing while staying on foil is the first true foil manoeuvre and a massive milestone. You need to maintain lift throughout the turn, flip the wing at the right moment, and switch feet — all while the foil is moving fast. Most riders spend weeks or months reaching this point, and once you've landed one cleanly, everything else becomes achievable.
Approach with good speed — more speed gives the foil more lift during the turn, giving you more time
Start the turn by shifting weight to the back foot and carving heelside — don't steer with the wing
Flip the wing at the halfway point of the turn — the wing flip and foot switch should happen simultaneously
Stay low and keep your weight centred — the most common crash is leaning back too far after the turn
