The downwind 360 is typically the first full rotation trick riders learn. You initiate from a downwind heading, pass through backwinded, complete the full circle, and land sailing forward. The downwind direction makes it easier because the foil has the most momentum and the wing transition is smoother than in an upwind version.
Speed before entry is critical — you need enough momentum to carry through the backwinded phase
Look where you're rotating to: commit your head and hips together, the board follows
Don't rush the wing flip — wait until you're almost back to forward-facing before re-powering the wing
Land with soft knees — the foil will pitch as you re-power and you need to absorb it
