Wingfoil · Duotone Wing Academy
The basic jibe is your first direction change in wingfoiling. The board stays in the water throughout — no foil lift — so it's a low-risk way to learn the footwork and wing flip that you'll later do at full speed on foil. Get this smooth before you try jibing while foiling.
Initiate the turn by pressing your back foot — the board pivots around the tail
As you pass through downwind, flip the wing — the front hand releases and the back hand becomes the new front hand
Step through the board (switch feet) while the wing is briefly neutral — timing matters here
Keep the wing low and slightly powered throughout — a fully depowered wing in a jibe means you'll stop completely
