Wingfoil · Damien LeRoy
The upwind 360 is harder than the downwind version because the rotation direction fights against the foil's natural tendency to carve downwind. You need more entry speed, a tighter arc, and a faster wing transition to complete it cleanly. Getting it consistent takes time, but it unlocks the upwind rotation family of tricks.
Enter with significantly more speed than a downwind 360 — the upwind direction resists the rotation
Commit the rotation with your head and shoulders first — hesitating mid-spin causes most crashes
The wing transition is faster here — be ready to re-power sharply as you exit the spin
Use the edge to drive the arc upwind; don't rely on the wing to pull you around
