Wingfoil · Duotone Wing Academy
Sit-down foiling means riding fully seated on the board while still on foil — not just squatting, but genuinely sitting. It requires a very stable foil setup and very smooth technique. It's partly a balance trick and partly a demonstration of complete foil control. Great for light wind when you want to keep riding on the edge of your foil's lift.
Lower yourself slowly and smoothly — rapid weight changes cause the foil to pitch violently
Keep the wing at a good angle to maintain power — your lower position changes the wing's effective angle
Front foot pressure stays important even when seated — control height the same way as standing
Practice with a partner in the water the first few times — you will fall, and having someone nearby is reassuring
