Wingfoil · Duotone Wing Academy
The aerial carve combines the lift of the foil with the energy of a wave carve — you ride up the face, the foil lifts you partially airborne, and you carve the turn while partially in the air. It's one of the most technically demanding wave manoeuvres because you're managing foil height, wave energy, and carving all simultaneously.
Approach from a powerful bottom turn — you need speed and trajectory for the foil to lift off the wave
Don't force the lift; let the wave ramp and foil lift combine naturally
Carve the turn while in the air with front foot pressure and edge — the foil remains the control surface
Land with knees bent to absorb the impact and maintain foil flight through the landing
