Majanicho Inside

Majanicho, Fuerteventura, Spain

About this spot

The sheltered bay in front of the tiny fishing village of Majanicho on the north coast. On normal days the reef keeps the inside fairly flat, which makes it a quieter place to practise than the open coast. In big winter swell the bay gets its own peaks, a right off the reef and further towards the village both rights and lefts, which work at mid and high tide.

Local tips

“Entry and exit are over reef, so wear booties and pick your line at mid to high tide. With east to southeast wind it is side offshore here, so only ride when you can go upwind without effort. In the trade wind from the northeast it is side shore. Surfers use the inside when the outside is too big, so give them space. Access is a dirt track along the north coast from Corralejo.”
