La Santa Lagoon
La Santa, Lanzarote, Spain

A perfect place to get your first flights without open ocean conditions. This tidal lagoon near Club La Santa stays protected from swell, giving you flat water to balance and control your wing. Higher tide works best since parts of the lagoon get shallow. Wind can be light and a bit inconsistent, but for first flights, gybes, and getting comfortable on foil, it's a super safe and easygoing setup.
Best months: May, June, July, August, September
Wind directions: N, NE, NW
Water: Flat
Bottom: Sand
Sports: Wingfoil
Local tips
Access is via the Club La Santa resort area, which has parking, showers, and a small shop. The lagoon is tidal and gets very shallow at low water so aim to arrive one to two hours before high tide. Wind inside is often lighter than you'd expect and can be shifty. Great for practising transitions, gybes, and basic moves without open ocean pressure. Not suitable for experienced riders looking for power or wave action.
