El Médano is Tenerife's wind capital — a long sandy beach backed by the volcanic Montaña Roja that channels reliable trade winds year-round. The flat-water lagoon south of the beach is perfect for beginners, while the open bay offers choppier runs for more experienced riders.
“Sessions often run 11:00–18:00 when the trade wind kicks in. The lagoon behind the beach is shallower and ideal for first timers. The harbour wall gets some good waves if the wind is a bit stronger (25 knots plus). Cabazo is only for windsurfers, not sure if winging is allowed (kiting is not, local rule!)”
