Corralejo Bay
Corralejo, Fuerteventura, Spain
One of the Canaries' most reliable spots to learn and progress on foil. Side shore to side onshore trade winds blow through summer, usually 10 to 25 knots. The beach is sandy, though you'll cross a small reef on the way in. Winter brings small to medium swell, turning the bay into a playful wave setup. Heaps of bars and restaurants nearby make Corralejo a proper all rounder.

Local tips
Trade winds typically pick up mid morning and blow through until evening from May to October, strongest around 1 to 3pm. The sandy launch is easy but cross the reef at the water's edge carefully, easiest at mid to high tide. In winter, NW swell creates a wave playground for those who can ride upwind. Plenty of schools and rental shops operate from the beach. Town centre is a five minute walk with loads of food options.
