Lago d'Iseo in the Bergamo Alps is driven by two opposing thermals: the Vento (S) blows strongly through summer afternoons, while the Balin (N) arrives in spring and autumn. The AWT Toline club manages the main spot, accessed via a 700 m walk along the lakeside cycle path between Toline and Vello.
“Access via the Toline–Vello cycle path (700 m walk from parking). Membership of AWT Toline is required to use the launch area. Best months: March–May and September–November for the Balin; June–August for the Vento. No kiting at this spot. In Summer there is a morning wind, that stops early, around 9. So be early. Morning tends to be a bit stronger than afternoon (you can use 5-6.5m2, with a somewhat bigger front wing). Afternoon breeze can be quite light. North of the lake catches most wind. ”
