Lago di Resia
Graun im Vinschgau, Italy

Raw alpine power at 1498m. Lago di Resia sits in the Vinschgau valley where Foehn winds funnel through reliably from June through September, turning this ancient reservoir into one of the Alps finest wingfoil training grounds. Flat to choppy water between granite peaks rewards technique focused sessions. Cold year round, so suit up properly. The old submerged bell tower rising ghostlike from the surface makes this spot truly unforgettable.

Local tips
Wind kicks in mid morning and usually runs until late afternoon. The north shore near Resia village is the main launch area. Rent gear from the local school on the lake if you don't want to haul kit across the Alps. Water stays below 15°C even in summer so bring a 3mm wetsuit at minimum. The famous submerged tower looks even better photographed from the water at golden hour.
