Poetto is the great sandy beach stretching eight kilometres east of Cagliari city. A classic winter wingfoil destination receiving Scirocco from the southeast and Levante from the east, generating clean swell and reliable side onshore conditions. The Mistral blows offshore here and flattens the water completely on different days. Active kitesurf and wingfoil schools operate year round, making Poetto the urban watersport hub of southern Sardinia. Great sessions right from the city.

Local tips
Works best October through April. In summer the Mistral blows offshore and conditions become light and unpredictable. Launch from the western end near the salt ponds for the cleanest wind.
