Naxos – St Georges lagoon

A sheltered lagoon just south of Naxos town where shallow flat water and a sandy bottom make it perfect for a first wing foil lesson. The Meltemi arrives from the north. The airport nearby means kitesurfing is restricted to the southern zone only. For beginners, kids, and anyone wanting clean flat conditions without the power of the open Aegean, this is the spot.

Local tips
Use only the southern zone of the lagoon near the airport. The northern end is restricted due to the approach path. Best for lessons and first flights. Naxos town is nearby with all facilities. Arrive in the morning before the Meltemi picks up strongly in the afternoon.
