East of Kos town, the narrow channel between the island and the Turkish coast creates a venturi effect that adds several knots to whatever the Meltemi is forecast. Side offshore to side shore NW to N wind, 15 to 25 knots from June through October. Pebble and sand beach, stronger than most spots on the island. Rescue boats operate in season. Suits independent riders more than those looking for a school setup.
