Solenzara on the east coast of Corsica gets reliable thermal sea breezes from the south and southeast each afternoon in summer. The sandy beach south of the marina offers flat to light chop with a clean sandy bottom and crystal clear water. Mountains rising behind the town channel and amplify the daily sea breeze. Uncrowded and warm, this is a proper Mediterranean gem for wingfoilers and kiters. Best from May through September.

Local tips
The kite and wing zone is on the beach south of the marina, away from the swimming area. Watch out for rocks at the southern end of the bay when launching and landing. The sea breeze typically kicks in around 12:00 and builds to peak strength by 15:00. There is parking near the marina and several restaurants and cafes close by.
