Siouville Hague is one of Normandy's most renowned kite and wingfoil beaches, a long sandy stretch on the wild west coast of the Cotentin peninsula. Southwest to northwest winds bring the most consistent conditions, sheltered from the south by the Plate headland, while Atlantic swell keeps waves punchy on the falling tide. Strong currents and a submerged hazard call for real experience, so this spot suits intermediate to advanced riders over beginners.
“Best conditions come on the falling tide near Cap de la Hague, with the beach narrowing fast at high water, so move north for space. The Pole Nautique de la Hague school and Cotentin Surf Club operate here, so lessons and gear rental are easy to find from April through November. Watch for the buoy marked submerged hazard in the surf zone and respect shared priority rules between surfers, windsurfers and kiters. Biville Dunes to the north make a quieter alternative launch.”
