Saint-Aygulf
Plage des Esclamandes, Saint-Aygulf, Fréjus, France

Saint Aygulf sits at the mouth of the Argens river on the Golfe de Fréjus, sheltered from the Mistral by the Maures hills. What you get instead is the Ponant, a reliable south to southwest thermal that builds to 20 knots or more through summer afternoons. Flat water inside the bay makes it a perfect learning ground and a genuinely fun spot for intermediate foilers seeking uncrowded sessions on the French Riviera.

Local tips
The dedicated wing and kite zone is on Plage des Esclamandes north of the main beach. A beach marshal operates in summer and a marked channel extends 300 metres out — follow the rules to keep access open for everyone.
