Plage du Taravo stretches along the mouth of the Taravo river where it meets the Gulf of Valinco — a vast uncrowded sandy beach ideal for wingfoiling. The gulf funnels reliable thermal winds from the west and southwest throughout summer afternoons, and the wide sandy launch with shallow bottom near shore makes entry and exit easy for all skill levels. Far less busy than the better known spots further south and genuinely worth the detour.
“Best wind window runs from noon to early evening in summer when thermal breezes fill in reliably. The river mouth creates a small flat water zone that works well in moderate conditions.”
