Lac de Serre-Ponçon

Lac de Serre-Ponçon is a large Alpine reservoir in the Hautes-Alpes with 300 sunny days a year and a reliable NW thermal wind channelled through the Savines–Embrun venturi. The flat reservoir water and predictable afternoon breeze make it a great destination for all levels, with dedicated schools for wing and kite.

Local tips
The strongest wind is in the Savines-le-Lac venturi zone. Altitude Kite and Le Spot wing school are both present at the lake. Season is May–September. Launch from Savines or Embrun — both have beach access and parking.
