Lac de Monteynard is the second windiest lake in Europe, with a strong thermal NW wind blowing reliably on two out of every three days at an average of 15 knots. Nestled in the Isère gorge south of Grenoble, the terrain creates a powerful funnelling effect that makes conditions exhilarating — and demanding.

Not suitable for beginners. Kite launch is managed by ONEKITE club at Treffort — inflation is only permitted in the designated zone. Windsurf and wing can launch from Plage Avignonet. Check with the club before arriving.
