Grand Lac de Laffrey

The Grand Lac de Laffrey sits at 900 m altitude on the Laffrey plateau, just 20 minutes south of Grenoble. A strong thermal southerly — the Goulet — funnels through the northern end of the lake, providing reliable afternoon wind for wing and windsurf. The mountain setting is impressive, and the water is cool and clear.

Local tips
This is a private lake — access for wind sports requires a permit from the local sailing club. Launch only from the designated zone at Le Goulet on the north shore. No kiting. Season May–September. Confirm access before visiting.
