Wingfoil · GONG
The frontflip is a complete forward somersault — you rotate fully head-over-heels in the forward direction. Unlike a frontloop which has some horizontal component, the frontflip is a pure vertical rotation. It's extremely committed and requires excellent airtime, a fast tight tuck, and the mental fortitude to throw yourself completely over forward.
Airtime is everything — you need to get high enough to complete the full rotation and spot the landing
Pull your knees to your chest aggressively immediately at takeoff — the faster the tuck, the faster the spin
The wing goes overhead and relatively stationary during the flip — it's not being flipped, you're rotating around it
Spot the landing as early as possible in the second half of the rotation — open up from the tuck when you see the water
