Lac de Neuchâtel is Switzerland's largest entirely domestic lake, offering a long open fetch with three distinct wind patterns: the Bise (NE) is gusty and cold, the Joran (NW) is strong and stable — favoured for freestyle — and SW winds add variety in changing weather. An active kite scene is centred around Yverdon-les-Bains.

Local tips
Y-plage nautical centre at Yverdon-les-Bains is the main hub on the southern shore. Saint-Blaise on the north shore works well for Bise days. The Bise can arrive suddenly and strongly — experienced riders only in those conditions.
