Paternoster is a whitewashed West Coast fishing village 150 kilometres north of Cape Town where the Atlantic swell wraps into a small bay producing wonderfully smooth, clean waves even in lighter conditions. South west wind provides the best side on launch; south east blows offshore and suits expert riders only. Ideal for wave riding when SW breeze combines with quality swell in the shoulder seasons.

Local tips
SE wind is offshore here: only experienced riders should go out on SE. South west gives the best side on conditions with quality waves. The village has excellent restaurants for an after session meal. Best in spring and autumn shoulder seasons.
