Melkbosstrand stretches along Cape Town's Atlantic coast north and delivers reliable SE Cape Doctor wind with fewer crowds (and lots of space) than the Blouberg beaches. The long exposed sandy beach picks up swell up easily for wave riding, but its also great for jumping as you have a good flat part in before you hit the waves.

Local tips
Often windy and doable for a while when Big Bay and Haakgat are blown out. The beach stretches for kilometres giving plenty of space. Gets quite gusty here, but hey, doesn't it always?
