The Lighthouse spot at Kommetjie, named after the iconic 33 metre Slangkop Lighthouse on the headland, sits on Cape Town's southern peninsula facing full Atlantic exposure. Very advanced conditions (due to kelp, big powerful waves, and hard launch conditions) year round, with spectacular mountain and ocean scenery in every direction. NW winds are best here, with launch option from Long Beach.

Local tips
The Slangkop Lighthouse is visible for kilometres. SE wind is strongest in summer; NW winds are best. Advanced riders only: the exposed peninsula gets the full force of Atlantic weather and there is not beach near by (rocks if you get washed)!
