Elands Bay
Elands Bay, West Coast, South Africa, South Africa

Elands Bay on South Africa's remote West Coast is best known for its world class surf break but also delivers excellent wind/kitesurfing and winging in the winter months when north west and south west winds push consistent Atlantic swell ashore. The long beach provides an open launch zone far from the Cape Town crowds. Cold water, powerful surf and dramatic scenery define this rugged spot.

Local tips
Pretty remote: fill up with fuel before heading here. The surf break is world class. Water is cold at 12 to 16°C. Limited facilities so bring everything you need. If there is no wind, surf is amazing here. Needs some swell though, as the wave needs to bend a bit.
