Peniche is one of Portugal's most famous surf destinations, known globally for the powerful Supertubos wave. For wingfoilers, the peninsula offers multiple beaches with different exposures — from the sheltered Lagoa de Óbidos nearby to the exposed N-facing beaches that pick up the full force of Atlantic swell and the consistent N thermal wind.

Supertubos and the main surf beaches are for experienced riders only — heavy shore break and powerful currents. The harbour side is calmer for launching. Check local surf reports for swell direction as Peniche can be enormous in winter.
