Lagoa de Albufeira (not to be confused with the Algarve resort) is a small coastal lagoon near Sesimbra on the Arrábida coast south of Lisbon. The lagoon opens seasonally to the sea and provides a completely flat, warm, shallow water environment that is ideal for absolute beginners learning to wingfoil.

Local tips
The lagoon mouth opens to the ocean only occasionally — check current status before visiting. The area is part of the Arrábida Natural Park; respect the protected dune habitat. Parking is limited in summer — arrive early or use the shuttle bus from Sesimbra.
