Lista
Borhaug, Farsund, Norway

Lista is the windswept peninsula at the southern tip of Norway where the legendary Pisserenna beach delivers some of the most reliable wind in Scandinavia. Westerly and northwesterly flows arrive almost daily across spring, summer and autumn, building proper wave faces on the outer sandbanks and leaving cleaner runs inside. A long string of beaches from Borhaug to Brunvær means you can chase any direction and find a working launch. Old lighthouses, second world war bunkers and quiet farming villages give the area a windswept end of the world charm.

Local tips
Borhaug harbour and the Lista lighthouse car park are the main launch points and have toilets and information boards. Listasurfing in Vanse offers wing lessons and rentals if you need gear. The shoreline mixes sand with patches of rock so booties are wise and stay aware of seaweed banks. Wind can switch from epic to nuclear in an hour so always rig with the next squall in mind. Camping is allowed at several beach lots with basic facilities.
