Drobak
Drobak, Norway

Drobak sits at the narrowest pinch of the Oslofjord, where the strait squeezes wind and current into something locals take seriously. Sessions launch from small piers around the town with views over the iconic Oscarsborg fortress mid fjord. Tide and current add a layer of edge to every session, making this an intermediate playground with shifty gusts, big swirling boat wakes and a backdrop straight out of a Norwegian postcard.
Best months: April, May, June, July, August, September, October
Wind directions: S, SW, N, NE
Level: Intermediate, Advanced
Water: Chop
Bottom: Sand, Rocks
Sports: Wingfoil, Kitesurf, Windsurf
Local tips
Watch the ferry traffic when launching as the channel here is busy. Current is strongest mid tide so plan your session accordingly. Parking near the harbour can be tricky in summer so try the side streets a few blocks back. Coffee and a Norwegian bakery sit two minutes from the water.
