IJburg is one of Amsterdam's newest districts, built on artificial islands in the IJmeer, and sits right on the water giving riders immediate lake access from the city. The IJmeer stretches wide enough to generate real fetch and short chop, making it a dependable flatwater spot without leaving the urban area. Southwest and westerly winds are the sweet spot, and it is reachable by tram as well as car.

Local tips
