Tamarin Point
Tamarin, Mauritius

Tamarin Bay catches the dominant SE swell and trade wind combination full on the face, producing powerful, punchy waves that peel down the reef with impressive regularity. This is expert territory: the reef is shallow, the current unpredictable and the lip heavy. Between May and September the south Atlantic swell adds size to what is already one of the most technical wave wing foil sessions available anywhere in the Indian Ocean. Tamarin bay is sheltered and very relax for cruising along.

Local tips
Locals only respect applies here: observe the line-up, read the reef and wait your turn. The wave breaks fast and very shallow. High tide puts more water over the reef and is the standard window for riding. The channel on the south side is the safe zone for pumping back out.
