Pointe d'Esny is an exposed southeast point where the SE trade winds arrive without any lagoon buffer. More technical than the sheltered Blue Bay next door, the spot delivers chop, rolling waves and proper side offshore conditions that test intermediate and advanced wingfoilers. The view toward Ile aux Aigrettes nature reserve and the Mahébourg waterfront gives sessions a raw, uncrowded edge that more popular spots in Mauritius have long since lost.
“Access via the small public lane off the coast road between Mahébourg and Blue Bay. Launching is easiest at the sandy north end of the point. Current runs parallel to shore and can push riders toward the boating channel faster than expected. Advanced riders only on the south tip where swell and reef combine to demand solid water reading. Booties are strongly recommended.”
