Anse la Raie is a sheltered north coast beach where the SE trade winds arrive clean and consistent across a large flat lagoon protected by a reef barrier. “The trade wind fills in from late morning and builds steadily through the afternoon. The lagoon runs roughly east to west with the reef channel marked by breaking waves on the outer edge. The north coast road from Grand Bay takes about 20 minutes and a small public car park sits near the village. Kite.mu operates from a base here and is the most convenient way to access rental gear and safety cover on the water.”
