Lakey Beach
Hu'u, Indonesia

Lakey Beach is a long sweep of sand on the south coast of Sumbawa where the dry season trade winds blow steady from May through October. The bay opens to the southeast, giving cross to cross onshore conditions across the full beach. Water is a mix of flat sections inside and a world class wave that breaks steadily (and is loooong) on a reef (can be shallow, be careful). The famous Lakey Peak wave breaks just to the south for those wanting to step up later.
Best months: May, June, July, August, September, October, November

Local tips
Best wind window is roughly midday into late afternoon when the trades fill in. Launch from the middle of the beach in front of the warungs to avoid reef on either flank. You will probably only sleep, eat, surf in the morning, and wing or kite in the afternoon. Amazing spot.
