Ammersee is one of Bavaria's most beautiful lakes, located 40 km southwest of Munich with the Alps as a dramatic backdrop. The lake is large enough to generate decent chop in stronger winds and benefits from thermal effects on sunny summer days. Several wingfoil and windsurf schools operate from the eastern shore.
