Lac Bay is a vast protected lagoon on Bonaire's southeast shore — 700 hectares of near-flat water ringed by white sand and sheltered by a barrier reef. Consistent cross shore trade winds of 15 to 25 knots blow across waist-deep crystal water warm enough to session without a wetsuit. Kitesurfing is strictly prohibited here, so the bay stays calm and uncrowded. An exclusively wingfoil and windsurf haven with real soul.
“Head further offshore beyond the shallow flats once your foiling is solid — that's where you find open water and more speed. Always respect the no-kite rule; it protects the entire bay.”
