Wenduine, Noordzee, Belgium
Wenduine is part of De Haan and lies between De Haan and Blankenberge. Kiters and wingers launch from the marked zone at Surfing Elephant, a wooden beach club at the end of the Zeedijk with a terrace and bar. At low tide the beach is wide. The North Sea brings chop and small waves, and groynes line this stretch. SW, W, NW, N and NE winds work, offshore winds do not.
“Walk to the end of the paved Zeedijk and about 30 metres along the beach to Surfing Elephant at Zeedijk Wenduine 81. Parking is free or in the blue zone with a parking disc. The club sells a day membership with the required insurance and you wear the talis on your harness. It also gives kitesurf lessons and rents equipment. Keep clear of the groynes and the guarded bathing zones.”
