About this spot
The Gavermeer is the lake of the provincial domain De Gavers, a few minutes from Kortrijk. The lake is about 1.5 km long and 500 m wide, which gives room for long runs. Zeil- en Surfclub Gavermeer (ZSG) is the home club for sailing, windsurfing and wingfoiling. Trees around the lake make the wind gusty: there are strips with wind and holes without, so a slightly bigger wing helps.

“Water access runs through ZSG at Eikenstraat 131; become a member or ask the club about a day arrangement. The provincial domain has large parking lots, toilets and a cafeteria. The domain closes during code orange storm warnings. In summer the swimming zone is busy, keep clear of it.”
