Freights Bay on Barbados's south coast is a compact, consistent wave spot for wingfoilers just east of Oistins. Reliable northeast trade winds produce clean rolling waves of 0.5 to 1.5 metres. Manageable enough for intermediate riders wanting wave skills without committing to heavy surf. The bay works on most trade wind days and rarely gets crowded, making it a quiet local favourite for those stepping from flat water onto foil surfing.
“A reef runs along the outer edge of the bay so watch your depth when foiling in the wave zone. Works best on a straight northeast trade wind — onshore south swell makes it messy.”
