Wallersee

Wallersee is a compact freshwater lake northeast of Salzburg, popular with local windsurfers, wingfoilers and kiters year round. Easterly and westerly Richtungswinds dominate in spring and autumn, reaching 3 to 6 Beaufort. The north shore at Naturstrandbad Zell is the main windsurfing and wingfoiling launch, while the south end near Seekirchen serves kiters. Wind is gusty and variable, with frequent direction shifts. Intermediate to advanced riders only. No motorboat traffic.

Local tips
Two launch areas: Naturstrandbad Zell am Wallersee on the north shore for windsurfing and wingfoiling. Kite-only launch at the south end near Seekirchen (beach access, easterly onshore). Best in spring and autumn. Bring a variety of sail sizes — conditions change quickly.
